two different kinds of strawberry jam

  • strawberry-mango
  • 440 g mango
  • 560 g strawberries
  • 3 tbsp. lime juice
  • 1 package canning sugar 2:1
  • strawberry-vanilla
  • 1 kg strawberries
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 1 package canning sugar 2:1


  1. both types basically have the same instruction, so I only make one
  2. first prepare empty jars with srew caps, because after the cooking you will have to act fast
  3. Now clean the fruits, cut them roughly into pieces and mash them with an hand-held blender oder food processor. It´s okay if there are still pieces in there.
  4. Now fill it in a pot which can carry at least 2 liters und stir in the canning sugar. For the mango-strawberry jam add the lime juice now. For the vanilla-strawberryjam scrape out the vanilla pulp and add this together with the vanilla bean into the pot. The vanilla bean will be taken out after cooking.
  5. Bring to boil with stirring. As soon as it boils, cook another 4 minutes. Don´t forget to stir!
  6. After 4 minutes make a test if the jam is jelly enough. Put a teaspoon of the jam on a small plate and check if it gets firmer. If not, cook another 1-2 minutes. Don´t cook longer than 8 Minutes in total after it started boiling.
  7. Now fill in the glasses right away and close them firmly. Turn the glasses over and let cool down. Keep in a dark and cool place - stays good for at least a year. After opening keep in the fridge.
