  • 400 g ground beef low fat
  • 125 g mini mozzarella balls or cut mozzarella in pieces, low fat
  • 15 small cherry tomatoes
  • 15 basil leaves
  • 15 to oth picks or something similar
  • 6 g salt
  • pepper to taste


  • mix the ground beef with the salt and pepper and knead properly.
  • get rid of the fluid from the mozzarella
  • make small portions from the ground beef. To make 15 meatballs, I took 26g ground beef each ball.
  • Press the meat slightly flat, put the mozzarella on top and put the meat around the mozzarella.
  • roll the ball in your hands until it´s closed around the cheese on all sides.
  • do this with the left meat and mozzarella until you have 15 balls.
  • heat a pan - I used 28cm brown them quickly. Then turn down the heat and fry them until they are cooked.
  • Be careful when rolling the meat around the cheese. If you leave parts open, they might open up in the pan. But even if that happens: they are still delicious.
  • now you can prepare the toothpicks.
  • skewer a basil leaf and a tomatoe and later a meatball and place on a plate.
  • Go on until all meatballs etc. are on the skewer
